The above quotation seems to be addressed to anyone who, if only once, has taken a pen in hand with the intention of writing something more than just their name; the intention to depict the world that they observe, feel and perceive through the senses. However, this creative process is not always as easy as one might assume from Irving Thalberg’s statement. The moment the pen approaches the paper, very often it turns out that the above-mentioned noting word by word proves far less easy than it might appear at the beginning. Going beyond the several letters of our name, regardless whether it is supposed to be a short story, an entertaining tale, a lofty manifesto, a novel or a script, for many it is beyond reach. Or so at least it seems …

Fortunately there are many brave hearts out there that are able to overcome the beginner’s fear and pour out onto paper their mind, heart and soul’s content. There are among them visionaries and dreamers, people driven by passion whose quill produces exceptional stories; funny, moving, engaging. Though often they remain in the shadow of actors and directors, the fact remains that every single film is born from a few laboured pages of a script.

It is precisely to such visionaries, dreamers, and cine-fiends that we address, within the framework of the Interscenario Festival, the CONTEST for the BEST FEATURE FILM SCREENPLAY..

Competition entries can be submitted between the 1st of May and the 31st of August 2009. In the contest may be submitted only original screenplays that haven’t yet been produced. Competition entries should be accompanied by abstracts not exceeding 10 pages of print, as well as personal information about the author (name, surname, address, mobile telephone number, email address), and a declaration of retaining a complete editorial control and copyright of the submitted screenplay.
