On Sunday the 1st of March 2009, began the broadcast of a new TV series “Doręczyciel “(Delivery Man) authored by Aneta Wróbel-Wojtyszko, a well known sympathetic Wrocław-based gal who received the main award in last years edition of the Best Feature Film Screenplay Contest organized within the framework of the Interscenario Festival. The new series has already won the hearts of viewers regardless age – according to TNS OBOP survey data, the first episode was watched by 5,756 mln viewers which comes to 47% of the market share!

The series tells the story of a Polish Forest Gump, namely Jan Kaniewski, a mentally challenged but winningly charming man in his forties who has to learn to support himself after the death of his mother who had taken care of him all his life. Jan looks at the world with the naïveté of a child, which wins him the sympathy of some, but renders him vulnerable to the spitefulness and mockery of others. He appears to know little of the outside world; he leaves a shop without paying, is frightened by exploding jars of raspberry juice… Faced with personal tragedy, however, he displays an extraordinary courage and understanding of his own situation – he decides to earn his own living. Consequently he ends up at a courier company “Błysk” and becomes the delivery man of the film’s title.

The series consists of 14 episodes. The main parts are played by, among others, Artur Barciś, Radosław Pazura, and Waldemar Błaszczyk. Maciej Wojtyszko is the director – and privately the husband of our script writer friend, while the second script writer is his sister – Maria Wojtyszko. We wish this tight family team, and especially the close-to-our-heart last year contest winner, plenty of success not only for this series but also for all their filming projects to come!
